Here’s What’s New

Mother Union American Methodist Episcopal Church has been actively involved with the greater Wilmington community for over 200 years.  The present building has been erected since 1998. God has always dwelt with us and we are moved by the Holy Ghost to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.  We are compelled to walk in the newness of life. Serving God who is the Alpha and Omega, and at the same time attend to the needs of this present age.

The Apostle Paul tells us in the 2nd letter to the Corinthian Church, chapter 5 and verse 17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Every 4th Sunday is our "Come As You Are" Sunday.  We are encouraged to invite people to our service regardless of whatever may discourage them from the fellowship.  We wear our jeans, sneakers, Church t-shirts and the like.  It is our belief that you can come as you are, but you won't leave the same, for it is the WORD that will make the change.

Bible Study every Sunday morning with detailed study and interaction one with another.  Paul tells Timothy: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."  We believe that the Word is not simply a book of history, but rather a clear example of how to live according to God today.

Slingshot UAME Lacrosse's mission is to expose, engage and empower inner-city youth through the athletics of Lacrosse. "A stick is not a weapon, it is a shot to success. Take a SHOT, David DID!"
Our goal is to expose male and female youth from the ages of 7 to 18 to a sport they had no idea existed. Come see and join our children playing a growing sport that encourages teamwork, athleticism, and sound biblical teaching.
